About Us
Capricorn Care Services specialise in short-term respite support for 11 - 18 year-olds. Our aim is to create a safe and calm environment in which children are kept engaged whilst simultaneously learning key life skills. We are dedicated to supporting young people in developing social, communicative, emotional and behavioural skills in a safe environment. Our goal is work which young individuals to promote their well-being whilst offering much needed stability before supporting them to move on to long-term placements.

We run activity-based programmes which include both indoor and outdoor activities. We focus on cognitive behavioural therapy techniques to promote positive change.

Our Respite service offers a 2:1 support ratio (in some cases a 3:1 support ratio) of highly experienced professionals, providing children and young people where possible with a much-needed respite break. *Waking nights also available on request.

We are dedicated to providing the highest level of support. As such, our support workers are qualified to NVQ Level 3 and above in Healthcare and/or Health and Social Care/ or working towards. Once employed our team undergo further training in their specialist field. Our Staff team have undergone all mandatory training and all hold current enhanced DBS checks.

Our team have experience with working with vulnerable people and are dedicated to helping young people develop the skills they need to thrive in their long-term settings.

Every day in the UK a huge number of children are placed into care. This creates difficulties for Children Services to find appropriate long term placements which meet the individuals childs needs, which can often leave the child without a placement and at risk. Capricorn attempt to bridge this gap by providing great quality short term placements.

Capricorn are committed to work with local authorities to not only achieve positive outcomes for young people, but to do so in a cost efficient way. The emphasis on our service is to provide quality support in a safe environment.

Andrew Fraser
Operations Manager
Andrew is a qualified experienced social worker who has been working with vulnerable adults & children for over 14 years. He is registered with social work England and is dedicated to helping young people achieve their goals. Andrew plays a key role in our referral and placement process with the emphasis on excellent communication between Capricorn and the local authority.

Shaun Walsh
Registered Manager
Shaun has over 9 years experience working Children's Residential Care. He has successfully completed his Level 3 Diploma and is currently working towards his Level 5 in Leadership & Management. Shaun's experience includes working with EBD, SEMH and other complex and challenging behaviour.

Shaun is committed to deliver high quality care in accordance with OFSTED regulations and has vast experience in adhering to the regulatory inspection process.

David Murphy
Company Director
David has experience within children's services stretching back over 40 years, particularly in fostering & adoption. He also has a vast amount of experience in running a succesful logistics company. He ensures Capricorn is ran efficiently whilst providing a quality service throughout. David genuinely cares and is passionate about doing his part in addressing current social care issues, providing a cost efficient service for local authority's to use.
