Capricorn Care is a Children's Home provider based in the North-West of England. Founded in 2023, Capricorn embarked on a mission to provide high quality, child focused care & support care to the country's most vulnerable children whilst giving them every opportunity to flourish in their futures.

 

Our mission is to offer personalised care plans to address the individual needs of every young person in our care. We aim to assist them in building the resilience and skills necessary to tackle any obstacles they encounter, unlock their full potential, and thrive in all aspects of life. We hold the belief that each child is unique, and has the potential to grow into active members of society and achieve their goals. Our ethos ‘enabling better lives’ is at the core of our leadership and will endeavour to embed them intrinsically within our staff team and young people.

Our core principles run throughout the company and we aim to guide our young people to make informed moral decisions and understand how to make the right choices. To achieve these objectives we believe that a care environment should be:

• Carers who are both firm and nurturing in their approach whilst being understanding and compassionate.

• Thoughtful, considered and informed approaches to each child's needs and provide nurture and therapeutic programmes.

We at Capricorn Care embrace the quality standards and wholeheartedly work towards achieving them. Our aims and standards of care are such that we would be happy to receive them if we ourselves stood in need of such support. It is our belief that all young people should ideally live within an appropriate family setting and being in a residential setting should not be a discriminatory factor for them, as all

young people should be offered the same opportunities. At Tithebarn we provide a warm homely atmosphere with caring staff, to try to replicate a positive family setting or that of what a young person considers to be important to them.

Capricorn Care has a range of attractive environments in which young people can feel safe and free to enjoy the space and time to grow in confidence and achieve their potential. Our homes provides security and consistency through robust individualised routines,

balancing individual needs with communal responsibilities and providing young people firm but fair boundaries. Tithebarn provides stability and care through good trusting relationships between the experienced, committed staff group, who work with the young people in a professional non-judgemental manner.

We assess each young person’s needs and attachments, to develop and implement individual care plans with a young person, family and professionals. An atmosphere is created where young people are valued and treated with dignity and respect, showing them that they are people of worth, enabling them to feel good about themselves and confident in their abilities. The service provides for the individual needs and rights of the young person in relation to age, gender, race, sexuality and disability meeting specific dietary, cultural, religious

and language needs.

We ensure that physical care and comfort is provided for young people, encouraging good diet and healthy lifestyle, with plenty of activities and facilities for relaxation. Capricorn Care is proactive in providing access to a full health care programme with treatment for specific health issues from professionals to enhance the well-being of the young person.

We ensure young people have access to range of education opportunities, appropriate to their age, ability and level of attainment, promoting it as a high priority. This could be accessing mainstream schools, specialist schools, alternative providers or at home

education.
