Capricorn Care NW Ltd is a Children's Home provider based in the North-West of England. Founded in 2023, Capricorn embarked on a mission to provide high quality, child focused care & support care to the country's most vulnerable children whilst giving them every opportunity to flourish in their futures.
Our mission is to offer personalised care plans to address the individual needs of every young person in our care. We aim to assist them in building the resilience and skills necessary to tackle any obstacles they encounter, unlock their full potential, and thrive in all aspects of life. We hold the belief that each child is unique, and has the potential to grow into active members of society and achieve their goals. Our ethos ‘enabling better lives’ is at the core of our leadership and will endeavour to embed them intrinsically within our staff team and young people.
Our core principles run throughout the company and we aim to guide our young people to make informed moral decisions and understand how to make the right choices. To achieve these objectives we believe that a care environment should be:
-
Safe, stable and free from prejudice.
-
Carers who are both firm and nurturing in their approach whilst being understanding and compassionate.
-
Thoughtful, considered and informed approaches to each child's needs and provide nurture and therapeutic programmes.

At Tithebarn, we place education and learning at the heart of each young person’s care experience, recognising that positive engagement in education is key to future independence and wellbeing. We work closely with schools, alternative education providers, and local authorities to ensure every young person has access to a suitable and consistent education provision that meets their individual needs, abilities, and aspirations. Our team actively supports attendance, attainment, and emotional readiness to learn, providing structure, encouragement, and advocacy where required. We also promote informal learning opportunities within the home, helping young people to develop life skills, confidence, and a sense of achievement. Through a nurturing and aspirational environment, we aim to re-engage young people with education, celebrate progress, and support them in reaching their full potential.

Specialist Support & Training
Therapeutic Support
At Tithebarn, we place a strong emphasis on specialist support and continuous staff development to ensure the highest standard of care for our young people. Our team is trained in key areas including safeguarding, behaviour support, trauma-informed practice, and de-escalation techniques, enabling them to respond effectively to complex and individual needs. Staff receive regular supervision, reflective practice sessions, and ongoing professional development, including Level 3 and Level 5 qualifications in Residential Childcare. We also work closely with external professionals, including clinical teams and local authority services, to provide a holistic and informed approach to care. This commitment to training and specialist support ensures that our staff are skilled, confident, and equipped to create a safe, therapeutic, and nurturing environment where young people can grow and succeed.
At Tithebarn, we work in close partnership with our therapeutic provider, Bmindful, who deliver specialist support to both our young people and staff team. Bmindful offer tailored therapeutic input, including comprehensive assessments, psychological formulations, and practical, evidence-based strategies to support emotional well-being, regulation, and behavioural understanding. Their involvement ensures that all care delivered within the home is underpinned by a consistent, trauma-informed and psychologically informed approach, helping staff to better understand the underlying needs, triggers, and experiences of each young person. Bmindful also contribute to care planning and risk management, ensuring strategies are purposeful, proportionate, and focused on positive outcomes. In addition, they provide regular reflective practice sessions, consultations, and ongoing guidance to staff, promoting a culture of learning, reflection, and continuous improvement. This collaborative approach strengthens the confidence and competence of the team, enhances placement stability, and supports young people to make meaningful progress in a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment.
At Tithebarn, we are committed to promoting cultural and religious inclusivity, ensuring that every young person feels respected, valued, and able to express their identity. We recognise and celebrate diversity, supporting young people to explore and maintain their cultural, religious, and personal beliefs in a way that is meaningful to them. Our dedicated Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Lead plays a key role in embedding inclusive practice across the home, providing guidance, oversight, and support to staff to ensure care is delivered in a respectful and informed way. This includes promoting awareness, facilitating access to cultural and religious resources, and ensuring individual needs are reflected within care planning. Through this approach, we create an environment where differences are embraced, discrimination is challenged, and all young people feel a genuine sense of belonging.
Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
At Tithebarn, we actively promote community engagement and future planning as key aspects of each young person’s development. We support young people to build positive connections within their local community, access education, leisure activities, and develop social networks that enhance their sense of belonging. Alongside this, we place a strong focus on preparing young people for adulthood, supporting them to develop independence, life skills, and confidence in making decisions about their future. Through personalised planning and ongoing support, we aim to ensure every young person is equipped with the skills, experiences, and aspirations needed to successfully transition into independent and fulfilling lives
